Day 1 – Negombo

  • Arrive at Bandaranaike International Airport and receive a warm welcome from your Pure Lanka Journeys representative, who will guide you throughout the Ramayana Tour.
  • Travel to the coastal town of Negombo and check in to your hotel.
  • If time permits, explore Negombo’s highlights, including the bustling fish market and the scenic Dutch Canal.

Day 2 – Chillaw, Pinnawala & Kandy

  • After breakfast, travel to Chilaw and visit the sacred Munneswaram Temple, believed to be where Lord Rama sought blessings from Lord Shiva.
  • Continue to Mannavari Temple, where Lord Rama is said to have consecrated the first lingam.
  • En route to Kandy, stop at the Pinnawala Elephant Orphanage to observe elephants in a natural-like habitat.
  • In Kandy, visit the Temple of the Sacred Tooth Relic (Dalada Maligawa) and enjoy a traditional performance at the Kandyan Cultural Centre.

Day 3 – Nuwara Eliya

  • Travel to Nuwara Eliya for a one-night stay.
  • En route, visit the Sri Bhaktha Hanuman Temple, built by the Chinmaya Mission and known for its special Pooja ceremonies.
  • In the evening, visit Gayathri Peedam, a sacred site believed to have been blessed by Lord Shiva for King Ravana’s son.

Day 4 – Bandarawela

  • Continue to Kataragama to visit the sacred Kataragama Shrine, dedicated to God Skanda.
  • Visit Ussangoda, believed to be one of King Ravana’s torched sites and an ancient landing ground.
